FM56-SV modem

Hey, I'm a new Linux user and i'm using Mandrake Linux 9.1, the modem that I am using is a FM56-Sv and it is not working. I installed the driver from linuxant.com and did the hsfconfig and set my modem to the /dev/modem/ but it still isn't working. Please help me, Thanks

Thanks, I'm gonna try it and see, well the "not working" part is that i mean't that it wouldn't detect my modem and it would say could not connect and sometimes it says no modem detected.

Try installing wvdial

urpmi wvdial

Command

wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf

If everything is installed correctly, the modem should be detected and the conf file writte. Edit this file with the proper info and then try

/sbin/ifup ppp0

and see if you can connect.

I never understood kppp and can always get wvdial to wrok.
