floppy drive inaccessable

when i try to mount my floppy drive i get an error.
mount : you must specify the filesystem type
it worked with slackware but now im trying gentoo and nothing.

heres my fstab
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto noauto,ro 0 0
i mount it by saying mount /mnt/floppy using ibm preformatted disks.
