Question Floppy disk drive support...

The Linux Hardware Compatibility HOWTO doesn't mention floppy disk drives.

I've been looking around this site and hit google.com/linux, and I'm left to just assume that all floppy disk drives are so inherently simple that Linux will work with them in a flash - no matter when they were made or by whom.

Confirmation or denial of this theory would be appreciated.

Yes, most floppy drives are pretty much generic, they're been the dame for a long time now. It's kind of like hard drives. They use a standard format, so the only thing you need to sccess them is proper drivers for the interface.
