Flash Drive, "Can't Set Config..."

I bought a cheapo Staples Relay 1gb usb 2.0 flash drive, and when I try to plug it in, /var/log/messages says:
Code:
New high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4
Configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
Can't set config #1, error -71
And RedHat never mounts or detects the drive further. Anyone encounter this problem?

Does any other USB device work in this port?
Does this drive work on other systems?
What USB chipset is in the system?

Other drives work on the port, the drive does not work on other RedHat systems I have, but does under Windows. I have no idea to tell you what USB chipset is in the system, how would I do that?

Check lspci, it should say something like:
Code:
00:1d.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB UHCI Controller #1 (rev 02)
00:1d.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB UHCI Controller #2 (rev 02)
00:1d.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB UHCI Controller #3 (rev 02)
00:1d.3 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB UHCI Controller #4 (rev 02)
00:1d.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller (rev 02)
I've found some chipsets are rather picky about thumb drives, ALi chipsets are some of my least favorite.

They all say USB Controller: Intel Corporation USB UHCI Controller #... (rev02)
or USB Controller: Intel Corporation USB2 EHCI Controller #... (rev02)
