Firewire powerfailure - device not recognised - what files to flush?

hi peoples

I accidently did the unforgivable and bumped the power chord going from the ups to my machine...and when this happened my ipod was connect through firewire. The ipod seems to work perfectly, however something is not working when i now plug it in. you are supposed to load the sbp2 module, and i setup udev to put the ipod on sd? and it was working. However after the power failure it doesn't get recognised and put on sda or wotever. I was wondering whether it is possible to flush the firewire cache things so that it will (in theory) work as if I had just plugged it in for the first time

thanks

redness

speed is appreciated thanks
