Firewire issues

Hello folks, wondering if you could lend me a hand with this...

I have a two of LaCie d2 BiggerDisk (1 TeraByte each), both have FireWire 400, 800 and USB 2interfaces.

I'm running Fedora Core 2 with a 2.6.6-1.435 kernel on a ShuttleX: 2.40GHz PIV
processor, 512 MB RAM on a FB75 motherboard.

The hotplug feature works fine, both drivers are recognized...or at least seems to...

The point is that...using the firewire interface i get this message:

And when I try the USB2 interface i get this other message:

Is this something bad? Even when I get these messages, I'm able to mount the disk
and copy, moving, delete data in it....but although these operations seem to work...
I don't like the fact that I'm still getting some error messages at detection time.

Sorry for such a big post...I tried to type as much info (usefull) as I could.

Thx in advance!

PD1: due to other issues, downgrading the kernel is not a possible solution.
PD2: I tried looking for info on the LaCie website...but they only provide support for
Windows and MacOS :P

What PCI card are you using, and did it set itself up?

I'm not asking because I can help, but because I'd like to buy a Big Disk (and the adapter) this week. I'm running Fedora Core 1 with an Asus MB that has no Firewire.

There's no PCI card. The Firewire and USB2.0 interfaces came with the motherboard.
