Finding Correct Moniter Settings

I have an old (Perhaps 95 or before that) "techmedia" moniter. I aint's got no books or anything on the moniter, just the moniter and the lable on the back. Now, Suse got it working but sometimes there are some nastys on the screen which I have assumed are monitor settings related. I also get a dialog every time I start up saying I haven't set my screens x/y settings. I am also going to do a search for settings or drivers from the product ID on the back, but I was curious as to how one would go about finding those even with out the product ID if one even could so such a thing.

I searched around and I was able to find Windows drivers for the specific model I have. I even did a google of "linux TCM-1448G driver" and still only got Windows drivers.

Thanks, Jake

For a really old monitor like that, it may be difficult to find the specs. Have you done a Google search on the exact model number? -- J.W.

Ok, I got the Vertical and Horizontal Fequencies, the monitor is 14''. Now I need the X and Y display size in mm. I have done a serch for Techmedia Display Size. I've don'e a search for TCM-1448G Display size and I get nothing. Any ideas? (And there isn't even a techmedia in the montior list)

I'm having similar problems with the same monitor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did find the max resolution. It's 1024 x 768.

Thanks.
