Fedora8 does not recognize my Atheros AR5006EG 802.11 b/g Wireless PCI Express Adapte

I cannot get on the web wirelessly. I have been having this problem for about a year. I am open to any suggestions. I have been told I need a wrapper, which I have tried to set up but I still cant get it to work. I have no problems loggin on with a wired connection.

Madwafi has driver for this chipset, I have a AR5007 and the driver works perfect on a eeePC.
One thing before you install driver, do a /sbin/lsmod and see if you have another "ath_*" module
loading, you must put it in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist so it won't load, conflict with new driver.

Compile the source code?

I dont have another "ath_*" module running. But I dont know what to do with the c file that is provided for madwifi. Do I simply compile it and run it?
