Question Fedora Spotaneously stop working on Acer Laptop.. after first Run


Can anybody tell me solution to my problem..
I installed Fedora core 2 on my Laptop.. 2 days back..

after installation LINUX runs only once..
then after that The error occured.......

Unable to access resume device (LABEL + SWAP-sda4)

Mount: could not find filesystem: ‘dev/root’
Setuproot: moving /dev failed: No such file or directory
Setuproot: error mounting /proc: No such file or directory
Setuproot: error mounting /sys: No such file or directory
Switchroot: mount failed: No such file or directory





Actually i think Laptops has USB Hard Disks.. this error is related to that thing i guess...

can nyone of you provide me a solution to the problem ????


And One thing more... during Start-Up How can i edit my BASH.RC file
i think name is correct but not sure.....
Linux BOOTABLE file

Is there any command or shortcut to that file..... during the startup.

I once had this problem on my own acer laptop..

did you try reinstalling fedora again?
also.. i am not quite sure if FC2 has this, but you can also try running recovery console..

nope i didnt try recovery console and reinstallation

but i tried
RHEL5

but now the problem is DRIVERS


can nybody tell me from where i get ACER ASPIRE 4520 DRIVERS

dats the system configuration
Main problem is with the AUDIO , LAN CARDS and VGA

I am not sure if this is the problem, but FC2 is ancient. The newest is Fedora 8. Hardware support improves significantly in every release. I am not sure how old your laptop is, but as a rule of thumb, make sure your Linux is at least as new as your computer, softwares don't usually support hardware that isn't out yet when they are released =). (eg. don't try to install redhat 7 on a modern computer, as it has probably never heard of things like PCI-E, let alone supporting your PCI-E video card)

As for the video card, if it's nvidia, have you checked the official site?

If it's ATI, you will probably need some luck, as ATI tends to not care about its Linux driver all that much.
