Fedora Installation on a board with onboard display

I have bought a new motherboard with ati x300 as onboard display. When I try to install Fedora Core 5, the screen become "strange" after finishing the task of checking media(I mean it can be displayed correctly, but still have some UFO on screen). I know this display have compatability problems with linux. And it can be solved using specific driver. But now I even can't install the linux. What can I do to install linux? I don't want to use M$ Windows anymore.

If worst comes to worse, use text mode to install FC...its a pain, but it may be all u have for right now.

I tried but it still crash when I reboot. It did recognize it is ati x300 but just can't be used. Now I installed mandriva 2006 and it gets to work, although all onboard device(sound, lan) except graphic can't be recognized.
