fedora core 4 compatibility
 
I have a ati 9600 pro vid card and a chaintech mobo with nforce 2 chipset. I was just wondering before I start playing with the install (which Im still trying to figure out cuz i have no cd or dvd burner I'm saving the isos on the hard drive that getting fedora but I'm saving them on a fat32 partition). Can any of yall point me in the right direction for the best way to install or suggest soemthing better, please. I've been using mandrake 9.1 but it crashed and ati and the kernel wasnt playin well together. I need some help guys -- TIA -- Judo

If you have a pen drive you can format it as a boot disk for Fedora. Once you've booted the installer, Fedora also supports installing from ISOs on a hard drive. The Installation Guide has info on both:

As a rule Fedora stays as close to the original software as possible, so for hardware compatibility just search for the names of the hardware on www.google.com/linux. Note that proprietary drivers from ATI etc. do add performance but may have compatibility and stability issues that the supplied Open Source drivers don't - make sure your system works and do a bit of research before installing any proprietary drivers.
