Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Fedora Core 3 - ATI 8.18 Drivers

Has anyone performed a yum update for the latest ATI drivers in Fedora Core 3?

Reason I'm asking and not doing myself is that last time I did them (I believe this was in 8.16?) my X Server wouldn't even start and even when I did get it to start I have no direct rendering.

Can anyone confirm for me that they have successfully performed a yum update on Fedora Core 3 for the ATI drivers and what, if any, additional steps I might need to make?

Losing my OpenGL would be a big pain in the butt.
