Alright I downloaded the ALSA 1.0.5 drivers, libs, and utils tonight because I heard that they support the Dell SB Live! soundcards now with a module called "snd-emu10k1x." I compiled the files and followed all of the installation instructions to the modprobe instructions. I tried to run the modprobe snd-emu10k1x command and this error showed up
Code:
[root@localhost alsa-driver]# modprobe snd-emu10k1x
FATAL: Error inserting snd_emu10k1x (/lib/modules/2.6.6-1.427.8kstacks/kernel/sound/pci/emu10k1/snd-emu10k1x.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)
Any ideas as to how I can fix this? I honestly have no clue what I'm doing other than following the directions I'm given. It's only my 4th day using Linux ever...
Any help would be EXTREMELY appreciated. Please don't make me pay to have sound through those satanists at OSS!
