I installed Fedora Core 2 and I can use the modem and I can listen to music, but not both at the same time.

When I'm connected, if I try to play anything in Rhythmbox, the system crashes and I have to reboot.

I'm using slmodem-2.9.7 driver, and I compiled it with SUPPORT_ALSA=1 flag, but the crashes still happens.

The README says to me to load the userspace driver with:
/usr/sbin/slmodemd --alsa <device name>
but I can't find the correct device name. I tried hw:0 and hw:1 and others, but none of them worked.
Even if <device name> is ommited the system still crashes when I play a song while using the modem.

Could someone please help me?

i've got slackware 9.0 kernel 2.6.6 and can't compile it with alsa support at all. wrote to the driver developer, hope they'll reply. my post on the forum about it is here http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=191425 but i've got no replies. please let me know if you solve the problem.
