FC6 86_64 AM2 board fails early in install

I've downloaded, burned, tested, the six FC6 86_64 CD set and tried to install (SATA)on an MSI K9NGM2 board. Previously I had been running FC4. This board apparently has an "APIC" conflict with Fedora and I was waiting for the 2.6-18 kernel to see if that would be resolved.

The boot doesn't get to the initial Anaconda screen. System hangs at:
"IO scheduler cfg registered (default)".

Can't find any compatibility info on this board and searching LQ for install problems doesn't find any hits for me.

Don't know what dumps might provide infomation. Do I need to move on to a different, non-MSI board?

Any ideas? A _32 bit install on the same board completes but I had a mouse problem perhaps because of a bad usb hub. I've dropped back to FC4 - 2.6.17 on an IDE drive. On the _32 bit install using "noapic" or "nolapic" made no difference in the mouse disappearance which may have been lost interrupts. (just a guess)

(sbin/lspci) below.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. The boot sequence has failed before getting to the first boot prompt. vmliniz has not been loaded. No prompts have been entered. This is the Auto boot sequence on the 1st CD that fails. I believe the article you have pointed to responds to adjustments made at the boot prompt. The 386 32bit CD do succeed and at least allow me to load. However, when I "upgraded" to 2.6.19 it blew my mouse away. Mouse function is there but no mouse pointer is visible. Cheers, -Geo.
