FC4 Zire71 cannot sync

Hello,

Could someone help me with my Zire71.I am using 2.6.14-1.1656_FC4.I tried kpilot & jpilot.None works.I have been trying to make this work for months now
Maybe I do not have the right perms?Tried chmod 666 /dev/ttyUSB*,but I get this:chmod: cannot access `/dev/ttyUSB1': No such file or directory(as root of course).

dev]# ln -s /dev/ttyUSB1 pilot
ln: `pilot': File exists

the Wizard in kpilot says 'A handheld could not be detected...'
...Weird cause I get this with dmesg:usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 7
visor 2-2:1.0: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter detectedusb 2-2: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB0
usb 2-2: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB1.

Any idea please?

Thanks in advance,

Martin.

Don't know anything about Fedora, but if it uses Udev, the device node for the Pilot is not created until you hotsync. I sync my Palm Zire 31 all day, but there is a trick: when you sync, you have to hit sync on the Palm first, then sync on the app (Jpilot, Kpilot, etc). Mine uses two device nodes: /dev/tty/USB0 and 1. Not sure why two, but my Palm is always on /dev/tty/USB1. If /dev/pilot already exists, Fedora must have a Udev rule created to create this device node, because it does not exist by default. Have you set up Jpilot to use /dev/pilot? If so, hook up your Palm, hit the sync button, then hit sync in Jpilot. Let me know if it works.
