failing non-boot hard drive

Hi All

I have an FC5 machine with a number of drives and one of the non-boot drive is failing and FC5 won't boot up. Is there a way of forcing FC5 to boot up ignoring the failing drive so I can get data off the other drives?

(Please keep in mind that I am very new to Linux.)

Thank you in advance

What happens if you disconnect that drive?

I would say that disconnecting the drive would fix the bootup process. Then connect the drive to a USB enclosure and try to rescue the data.
