External USB HDD not mounting

Hi all

When I tried to connect my USB 2.0 External HDD to PC running RedLinux 9. I ended up getting the following message. Can Any one help me?

If your connecting the drive through an external hub, I'd try connecting directly to your box. Some devices simply won't work when connected through a hub. I had a similar problem with both my scanner and my usb hard drive until I connected directly to the box.
