You might try getting a usb wireless remote. I cannot remember the name of the program to run them on linux, but if you look around mythtv it is listed with its install instructions.

Hi,

Don't know specifically what you've got, but I've made myself a jukebox aswell.

I've got a remote control using LIRC, and what I was planning...

As I'm not using a keyboard for it (as a server, without keyboard monitor etc), I've ripped apart a keyboard, plugged that in, and you can wire a switch to the right points, and then just have a little program that detects key presses, you can have 104 or something buttons, it's just a case of figuring out which wire goes where to simulate which button. You can even have caps lock as mute and have the little light mounted on the front aswell :D

Apart from that, the only way I know is to use a remote and glue it onto the front :P harsh, but hey.

If you want to stay wired, why not just buy a keyboard extension cord and program the Function keys?
