external modem
 
ive tried several linux distrubutions but was unable to configue my dial up modem on my laptop...

which are those external modems that are comaptible with linux. Would be thankful if you could provide me with some links

All serial modems (RS232) should be compatible.

I dont have serial port on my laptop...

can usb modem be used instead?

Check Ebay Just do a search for external serial modems. Should be a ton for around $10.00.
