Do you have one in mind? Have you tried plugging one in to see?

USB 2.0 compliant devices are pretty-much plug-n-play. Ask the vendor. Not all usb device are standards compliant. The YDL forums discuss this a bit.

There are many DVD burning programs for use with GNU/Linux distributions.

Well... when referring to yourself, you use the upper case "I". Similarly, new sentences start with upper case. And I do "know" of programs, but I do not "no" of any. If you spend some effort on your writing, then people will be more willing to spend some effort on replies.

Also you:

... if you get useful info there first, please tell us.

I'm not being sarcastic.
Don't worry, it is difficult for English natives to judge the tone of written material too.

I answered your questions properly.
I also tried to help you get better replies than you have done.

If you won't take advise, don't bother posting.
