Hi,
I think there is no solution :-( I was searching the internet long enough and no clue. Clone mode work almost "out of the box", but extended mode is probably impossible to setup. I have laptop Acer 5024 with Ati X700 and proprietary Ati drivers 8.22.5 running Ubuntu 5.10. If anyone knows anything, please let us know. Thanks Tets :-) |
hi ,
at last i have realised extended desktop , it's perfect for my configuration , i have readen this link , i changed a little what must be done : http: // download.nvidia.com / XFree86 / Linux-x86/1.0-8178/README/ appendix-g . html and then it worked i can even place extended dual wallpaper on my screens like 1600*1200 ..... etc... good luck ... |
Too bad for me...I have an ATI card :-(
But thanks for a reply, anyway. I'm happy, that at least you setup it successfully. I'll keep searching&trying. Tets :-) |
It's working! And it was incredibly easy to set it up:
As I wrote before, "I have laptop Acer 5024 with Ati X700 and proprietary Ati drivers 8.22.5 running Ubuntu 5.10." There are these few steps: 1. Backup xorg.conf 2. run "aticonfig --initial=dual-head --screen-layout=right" (I have the second monitor on the right side) It was running fine, but on the sec. monitor was completly new desktop! 3. Then "aticonfig --dtop=horizontal --overlay-on=1" fix it! It's all in "aticonfig -h" :-( Tets :-) |
