ethernetcard

hi all,

My onboard network card, the 3com gigabit lom (3c940) on the asus p4p800 doesnt work under linux. I tried the driver/module on the cd and from the internet. I follow the steps of the reame over and over again but the same error always show up:

/usr/src/linux/include/linux/autoconfig.h:1:28 linux/rhconfig: no such file or directory

I have mandrake 9.1 installed on my system. I'm a complete newbie so don't shoot me if i'm asking stupid things .

Hi,

when you compile a module, the compiler needs some files of kernel source.
Check by the mandrake control if the source is installed (by default, the distro usually install it only if required by the user).

If you downloaded the distro from internet, check for the kernel source also!

Another stuff: if the kernell source is already installed, check the directory where it is

Hope this help
