Ethernet Tulip 2 cards Linksys

Hi,

Ok i know that google is full of people asking what I am about to ask but nothing seems to work so throught I would ask again and see if any one has the answer.

I have a network with three network cards as follows

eth0 DHCP via-rhine
eth1 10.0.0.6 tulip
eth2 10.0.0.8 tulip

The problem is I can't use both eth1 and eth2 at the same time, If i try to ping each card only eth2 will work. If i do the following

ifdown eth1
ifdown eth2
ifup eth2

I can now ping eth2.

I am running SuSE 9.0 with kernel 2.6.3 althrough I have had the problem with all kernels in SuSE 9.0, Red Hat 9.0 and Fedora Core 1

The tulip cards are both Linksys cards and are the same version. They are not on the same IRQ either. DMESG shows no errors what so ever
