Ethernet Drivers

Hi,

I have install Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 Update 2 and i have a problem with my ethernet driver. I can see the vendor which is Intel 82567V-2 Gigabit Network Connection and also i have loaded the module but still it does not work.. If i go to Administration -> Network i must create a new ethernet connection but i cannot get it to work or i do not what to choose from the list.

Any recommendations?

What is the output of:
Code:

sudo lspci -v
All we really need is the section pertaining to the NIC in question.
What exactly do you mean by "does not work"? Is the card up? Are you using DHCP or static IP addressing?
Also, what is the output of:
Code:

ip addr

I have install Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 Update 2
you are aware that this is rather OLD
it has NO support for any new hardware

Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 is a rebuild of Red Hat RHEL 5
RHEL5.2 was released in "2008-05-21"
so for any hardware newer than 2008 you will have problems
