Ethernet communication


Dear All,
I would like to know how Ethernet communication happens and interrupts involved.

Where is the source for ethernet driver in linux kernel.

O'Reilly has some books that probably weigh in at a kilo or two. Keep you busy a long time.

Or you could plow into wikipedia at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethernet. Their technical stuff is actually quite good.

The specific thing you asked (where is the ethernet source in linux), I don't have the answer to. Perhaps someone else can chime in and give that detail.

Another good online reference is 'The Linux Kernel'

The driver can be compiled in statically or as a module. You can look at the source in '/usr/src/linux' if you installed the source.
