Please help! Just installed RedHat 7.3 and I can't get online...
Current facts: My HDD is partitioned with XP on one part and RH on the other. With XP I am using PPPoE DSL through Earthlink. Upon RH installation my NetGearFA310TX PCI card was not detected. Nor is my card listed as a supported network device. So after fooling around with the Gnome configuration software with no luck (this being my first time using Linux so I'm still in new territory), I uninstalled the ethernet card and driver from the XP machine, and reinstalled the card to see if RH would detect it. Nadda. 7.3 has Roaring Penguin installed already so I don't see the problem. I've consulted many books and internet threads with no luck. Someone clue me in...
you need to find a driver for your card if it is not supported by Linux, it sounds like a Windows ethernet card, so I hope you can find a linux driver. By what you said, I think it's safe to assume you have an ethernet DSL modem, which is very good, you just need to get your ethernet card working and then you'll almost be done, after configuring your kernel to enable all PPPoE interfaces and recompiling your kernel since PPPoE is not all supported by default!, then you should be ready to download some mp3's,
