eth0 configure on Fedora Core 2

Hi,

I just installed Fedora Core 2. I'm OK w/linux configuration but not that good. Anyway, I have been tinkering with previous distros over the past few weeks and I always installed (or the installer detected) 3C-59x module for my ethernet card. I'm pretty sure it's a 3C-590 card.

Fedora Core detected 3C-900b which did not load properly. I have the box connected to a router configured for DHCP which is connected to a cable modem.

I removed eth0 and the 3C-900b driver, installed 3C-590 and tried to active eth0 but it didnt' work.

I am certain the connection to the router is working and that there aren't problems from that end.

How do I diagnose and/or fix this problem? I have absolutely no idea what to do other than reinstall RedHat 9 which I am not eager to do.

thanks!

Jim P
