es1371 Sound Troubles

I'm running SuSE 8.2 on a Dell 1GHZ machine with a Esoniq AC97 ES1371 sound card.... (In windows it shows up as a Sound Blaster 64 PCI, if that means anything.)

Anyway, it is installed, and works.... mostly.

I am trying to get it so that I can play more than one sound file at a time. At the moment, my card will only play one sound file... if I load a video with sound, or some other sound file, I will not hear the audio (In the case of video however, I can still watch.)

In windows I never had a problem with multiple simultaneous voices, so I am at a loss as to what could be going on here.

A mod probe on es1371 results in this:
"modprobe es1371
/lib/modules/2.4.20-4GB/kernel/drivers/sound/es1371.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.20-4GB/kernel/drivers/sound/es1371.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.20-4GB/kernel/drivers/sound/es1371.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.20-4GB/kernel/drivers/sound/es1371.o: insmod es1371 failed"

How can I correct this problem?

Dunno if this helps at all but my dmesg says:

es1371: version v0.32 time 15:30:08 Mar 14 2003
es1371: found chip, vendor id 0x1274 device id 0x1371 revision 0x08
es1371: found es1371 rev 8 at io 0xec00 irq 17
es1371: features: joystick 0x0
ac97_codec: AC97 codec, id: TRA35 (TriTech TR A5)

The card is an SB16PCI.
