In order to provide an other way we need to know which way you are trying now.

How did you mount the nfs share?
How idid you create it?
What command are you using to copy?

Have you seen:

Dear Simon,
I am trying this in nas.At the nas command prompt i am entering following commands, where "aaa" is a nfs share folder in 122.116.113.94 and /mnt/ide4/backup is the mount oint for nfs share.

nas> mount -t nfs 122.116.113.94:/mnt/ide3/aaa /mnt/ide4/backup
nas> mount
usbfs on /proc/bus/usb type usbfs (rw)
/dev/hdd1 on /system type ext3 (rw)
/dev/hdd2 on /mnt/ide4 type ext2 (usrquota,grpquota)
122.116.113.94:/mnt/ide3/aaa on /mnt/ide4/backup type nfs (addr=122.116.113.94)
nas> ls /mnt/ide4/backup/
564 test
nas> cp -R /mnt/ide4/backup /mnt/ide4/k
nfs: server 122.116.113.94 not responding, still trying
