Error copying large files from cdrom

I've got this file on the cdrom that's 115MB. Though the same cdrom drive and same file copied without any problems on windows xp, it ran into error when I ran it on RH7.3. Shortly into the copy the system said "Error I/O error while coping /mnt/cdrom/myfile.bin". Only 10MB of the entire file was copied inot my target /home directory. Using "dmesg | less", the log showed this error line "I/O error : dev 0b:00, sector 607328". Is there an error with the cd? Is so, how did xp managed to overcome this? :newbie:

I've had similar problems only to find that it didn't load properly on either systems. I/O problems reported by either OS are of course nothing to do with the OS, it's to do with the medium or how the program was put on the medium.

Try running the binary file in XP. Does it work?
