Error 8 The connect script failed (returned a non-zero exit
status).
Hard to say without seeing the chat script. The chat script looked
for something, and didn't find it.
Error 6 The serial port could not be locked.
Look in /etc/ppp/options - is there a 'lock' option? Or more likely,
did you 'kill' the previous connection attempt with a 'kill -9' ? Don't
do that.
