Epson XP432 - all pages are blank
Hi.
Fedora 31 user here. I've connected an Epson XP432 printer/scanner to the USB port. The OS does detect the scanner, and the print dialog seems to work.
Except from one thing - when the paper get out of the printer, there is no ink. Maybe - just maybe some few patches of ink at the very edge of the paper, but that may just be ink leftover.
This is what I've tested so far: - Connected the printer to a windows computer and was able to confirm that the printer indeed is fully functional.
- Installed the official Epson driver (epson-inkjet-printer-escpr-1.7.7-1lsb3.2.x86_64.rpm). Still only blank pages.
- Most recent version of Linux Lite permanently installed on a USB thumb drive. Also from this distro, all papers from the printer are blanks.
- Tried to print from several different programs (Libre Office, Gimp, Inkscape, Xed, and more). Same result.

Do you have access to another computer you could use to test the printer to make sure that the printer does work?
That's the first thing I'd do, even if I had to ask a friend to let me hook it up to his or her computer for five minutes, because, if the printer is busted, nothing you do on the computer end is going to make it work.

See first entry in bullet list. Yes - that I've done, the printer works well on another computer.

I have almost a somewhat opposite situation with an Epson XP-440 used from Linux. I too have Epson's interface software installed. The printing facility seems to work fine. But the OS does not detect the scanning capability, and the scanning functionality does not detect any computer connected to it. I haven't explored the details of the problem, but I do wonder if in some strange way, there's some USB version incompatibility. Especially since I am able to copy documents locally on the scanner itself.

I have not managed to find a solution on this. Does it exist a way to reach out to Epson (mail etc.) ?

Have you tried epson-inkjet-printer-escpr-1.6.41-2.1lsb3.2.fc31.rpm from the Fedora repo? It claims to work with your printer

It says:
Code:
$ sudo dnf install epson-inkjet-printer-escpr
[sudo] password for grobe:
Last metadata expiration check: 1:13:24 ago on Wed 22 Apr 2020 20:08:24 CEST.
Package epson-inkjet-printer-escpr-1:1.6.41-2.1lsb3.2.fc31.x86_64 is already installed.
Dependencies resolved.
Nothing to do.
Complete!

That is kinda odd. I had to download and install 'epson-inkjet-printer-escpr' from Epson website and after installing some missing dependencies was able to get Epson WF-3720 to work. I'm running Mageia 7 though.
I guess you do have all printer drivers installed?

From another source (local forum), I was pointed to CUPS. Investigated about that, without any results - so I decided to submit an issue on github/cups ( this link).
I basically get the question if I installed the print queue by myself or if it was automatically installed. I want to give a proper answer on that and I don't know - would the print queue ship along when installing printer driver ?

Problem solved (non-technical solution).
Have a friend with an old HP printer that is not supported by W10 any more, so we simply swapped printers. Two problems solved at once
