Epson wont recognized cartridges. Please Help!!

Good Day to all of you.

I have a question about my three printer's where is unable to recognized any type of cartridges. I already done trying lots of cartridges but still not recognized. Only one cartridge is not recognized.

Do any one can help me on this, thanks.

It sounds like a printer hardware problem to me. A websearch for "epson printer not recognizing cartridges" turned up a number of links and some indication that this is a problem with certain Epsons.

Unfortunatly, that is usually not practical, unless you know someone that has the same printer or uses the same cartridge in their printer...

Personally, I use foam covered 'Q' tips to clean the contacts using distilled water. One direction and slight pressures with a dampened 'Foam Q' tip for the print-head electrical contacts. You do not want to wear these contacts as this will indeed cause issues. Some users will mishandle the ink cartridge by contact with their fingers on the contacts. You can use the same technique to clean these contacts, again dampened foam 'Q' with slight pressure in one direction. By using a 'Foam Q' you are insuring no -lint deposits You could use a regular 'Q' along with a piece of 'lint free' cloth covering the 'Q' then dampened with distilled water. In a jam I will use a rubber band to hold the piece of cloth over the 'Q' tip.

So... Are these genuine Epson cartridges or refills/refurbished ones? First thing with inkjets is to use the manufacturers cartridge if you have a cartridge problem. If it's OK with an Epson Cartridge, the "remanufactured" one is faulty. I think Epson ones have a fuse which blows on them and prevents refills showing ink levels. Some Epson printers also stop working when the waste ink pad inside the printer is supposedly full with a "replace the Printer" message.

Note: This was some time ago so the world and Epson have probably have moved on!
