epson stylus photo printers

I am considering a high quality photo printer purchase. I've narrowed it down to the epson r1900 or r2880. I would be running these from a Ubuntu 11.04 os. anyone have any input as far as compatibility? I am finally too frustrated to continue with my old ink jet "photo" printer. Time for an upgrade.

The Open Printing Database is your friend.

I think that, by and large, Epson has a pretty good rep for Linux compatibility.
