Epson PictureMate Deluxe photo printer, need help finding driver, please.

I have the Epson PictureMate Deluxe 4x6 photo printer. I am using Ubuntu Gutsy. I have also installed KDE, so both complete desktops are in place, if that helps for some reason in this case.

I am in KDE now and when I go to add the printer I get to the screen where there is a large menu of printer manufacturers on the left side of the screen and the models on the right. My model is not there. I have the Gutenprint drivers installed, by the way. I used PCLinuxOS and I recall that my printer was listed as having a driver in that KDE based distro. I have updated everything in Ubuntu with the package manager. I have the latest drivers and all packages for CUPS and Gutenprint.

Any ideas ?

I took a look here --> http://openprinting.org/show_printer...on-PictureMate

and it list the Gutenprint driver as the correct one. There are a lot of printers there marked PMxxx so I can't be sure this is the correct model. Have a look for your self if this is not the right model.

If you have cups installed, open a web browser, and in the location bar type http://localhost:631 and use cups to add the printer, and manage the printer. I know Ubuntu has some home brewed tools for the task, you will find it much more difficult to find help if you are not using tools found on any and every distro.

Hope this helps.

Quick Google using "picturemate Linux" looks very promising. I think one of the hits is Epson's Linux site.
