Epson C64 on RH 9.0

New to Linux and RH 9.0. Trying to install gimp-print-4.3.25 for my Epson C64. Downloaded .tar.gz to a dir created in home dir. Untarred to same dir. Run ./configure and get the error: no acceptable c compiler found in $PATH.

Have c complier installed on system. What does this error mean/how do I fix it?

"Have c complier installed on system. What does this error mean/how do I fix it?"

Use this command:
which gcc
to see if the compiler is on the PATH.

Use this command:
rpm -qi gcc
to check that the compiler is installed.

"I ran the rpm -qi gcc---not installed"

You need to install gcc. There should be a rpm for gcc on your Red hat install CD.

Decided to start from scratch. I did a "bare bones" install the first time. I am running a duel boot with XP on my laptop to see if it worked. It did so have decided to do a reinstall with the "everything" option. I will then try the printer install again. I will let you know if any more problems crop up. Thanks again jailbait.
