ok, just found this page where it shows drivers for wf-2510. ive got the scanner bundle and print driver.

ive installed the scanner but when i go to install printer through software installer it says "failed to install file, not supported"

You're attempting to install a 32-bit package. Do you really have a 32-bit system?
From the guide I linked to...

So download and install the 64-bit package.

my bad, i had the 32bit and 64bit, once i deleted the 32bit it installed.
works great, printed 1st attempt.
