i get this after modprobe snd-emu10k1 but when I run alsaconf, it reports "no PCI card found". with kernel 2.4.22 (with whitch Slackware 9.1 shipped) sound works just great...

also, I didn't compile the OSS compatibility modules.

please help!

Hi, I got a similar problem (also about emu10k1), the problem is that it can't be loaded. I use Knoppix 3.2 (I know it's old) and have an Asus Radeon 9800 XT.

When I use modprobe I get this:

Its snd-emu10k1

i have the same problem but i cant get the modprobe or the lspci command to work

For some reason you have to go to console with Ctrl-Alt-F1, then login for it to work, which is annying as you can't copy and paste
