emu10k1, audigy 2 5.1 sound on 2.6.0-test4
I have a soundblaster Audigy 2, and have the alsa driver for it built as a module for kernel 2.6.0-test4, im trying gentoo on this box for the first time.
I can only get sound output to the center/bass channel. and when i try to compile the emu10k1 driver from cvs, it gets an error because its looking for version.h which isnt in 2.6.0... any ideas????:scratch: |
You have to go with the ALSA CVS version to get audigy 2 going.
Make sure you have cvs and kernel-source installed first. ALSA CVS download # Compiling/installing kernel modules You will need to have installed: 1. The developmental packages (compiler) 2. The kernel source code that matches your running kernel 3. The module source or install code Check out your system and look under the hood and see if you installed the stuff you need to do the job. Open an x terminal and type in this sequence of commands to see what kernel we are running and see if you have the kernel source installed: Code:

i compiled the module that came with the vanilla source for 2.6.0-test4. i have my compiler up and running and all that good stuff. And there is sound, i was just seeing how to enable 5.1 audio with the alsa modules that are included in the 2.6.0 kernel.

When it comes to the emu10k1 drivers on sourceforge, it appears you are not alone: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index...73&atid=440822 It appears that the cvs version of the emu10k1 driver may have some Audigy 2 support. By now it could have complete support. i compiled 2.4.22, and everything works great; 5.1 surround. still cant get it to work on the test kernels though.
