eject cd-rom drive using (gasp) the button on the front

heya,

I'm running Fedora Core 2 and I've got a CD-RW and a DVD-ROM that work nicely. However, I can't seem to eject either optical drive without using the eject or umount commands. This gives me the irrits, because I have physical access and yet I cannot eject a disc with a single button press.

How can I eject the cd-rom and/or dvd-rom drives by pressing the eject button on the front of my box?

Thanks,
-pcweirdo.

PS.
