Eicon Diva on FC2 - won't activate
I recently installed an Eicon Diva 2.01 PCI ISDN modem card on my dual boot winXP/FC2 box (kernel 2.6.8-1.541). I know the hardware works because it will connect to the ‘net from winXP. However, although it is detected by kudzu, I cannot get the card to connect to the ‘net from fedora core 2, using either KPPP or the system-config-network dialogue. I have set up a 56k modem successfully in FC2 on the same box so I don’t think it was the configuration I set, although I am open to correction. The ISDN modem has been detected and configured, but when I try to activate it, the process only gets as far as triggering the dial before the status window disappears and I'm left with an inactive modem.
I finally uninstalled the card (winXP can connect using another, unsupported modem it shares with another box), but if anyone has any tips for getting an ISDN connection from FC2 using this card I’d be happy to give it another go. Since then I have upgraded the kernel to 2.6.9, installed from source. I am actually posting this from the winxp partition (shock, horror) so I’ll post the contents of /sbin/lspci next time I boot linux.
