I am thinking about installing debian 5.0 codename "Lenny" on my eee pc 1000. Which version should I install? The x86, amd64, or the i386? Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know of a site that tells me how to replace the ssd drive in the eee pc 1000? Is the ssd drive in an eee pc 1000 replaceable? Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.
I don't think you can replace the internal SSD.
I have an eeePC 701 which came with only 4GB.
I put kubuntu8.04 on the whole of that drive, and then plugged in a 16GB MMC-SD card which I use for /home
It all works well.

Check out the forums at forum.eeeuser.com
Lots of eee users over there.
@snowpine
Did you read this thread? I mean all two posts of it?
If so, may I ask why you are reposting (badly, I might add) information that has already been posted?

The OP was looking for a good resource for eee-related questions. I think eeeuser.com is a great site, and I said so. Am I not allowed to +1 the advice of others? Are you insulted that I agree with you? I don't understand the hostility.

Calm down. There is no "hostility", I just think that it is pointless to repost a link to a site that has already been mentioned in a thread without contributing anything more than the link that has already been posted.
If everybody posted "good link" or "good advice" or "I agree" to every post on this forum, it would become unreadable because of multiple, pointless, unnecessary and uninformative posts.

Hi Polanski, there is a site called mydigitaldiscount.com that advertises a Runcore brand SSD for the eee 1000. They range from 16-128gb. I do not have a 1000 myself, so I can't personally vouch for this solution. Good luck!
