DVD (region 2) on Mandrake 9.1

Hello everybody

After managing to sync my palm and using my pci modem is watching dvd's the only thing that's not working.

I downloades "xine" (which, of course, was already included in the mandrake distro) and "ogle".
Both of them don't work. Xine is able to read the title of the dvd and the conter on to top left corner says 0:00:00. But then nothing more happens. I wasn't able to run the disc. Some errormessage with the data stream follows.

Could it be the wrond codec? what codec shall i use? any other software? I'm usin a hp Pavillion laptop with atoshiba DVD-rom.

Thank for any help

D.

no, it's the wrong distro.... recently a numebr of major distributions have been deliberetly crippling (and giving an unfairly poor reputation to) a number of mp3 / dvd players due to potentially legal issues. download te REAL version of a decent player such as http://mplayerhq.hu (who currently has an article about this practise on their site there) and go nuts.

Problem solved. Had to install several packages (they were on the Mandrake distro..). Afterwards Ogle worked fine!

Xine still doesn't work, but who cares? One player is enough!
