DVD distro of ubuntu 9.10 64 bit doesn't see VIA Nano C7D CPU as 64 bit
I have a:
biostar viotech 3100+ MB
with 1GB DDR2 @ 667MHz
a DVD drive and a 40Gig on the IDE port
When I try to install the Ubuntu distro 9.10, 64 bit, from a DVD.
I get the error messy that the CPU isn't a 64 bit.
Biostar support isn't any help because they think there is an Atom Intel instead. So they told me I can't install a 64 bit OS since I have a Intel Atom CPU.
Am I stuck living in a 32 bit world? My only hope is that there is a BIOS setting I can change?
