DVD/CDRW combo drive

I just recently got my autofs script running, and i have a TDK DVD/cdrw drive. Rigth now it is only seen as a normal CD-rom drive. First question is how do i setup the drives as dvd/cdrw drive respectivly, i have the append="ide-scsi=/dev/hdc" in my lilo.conf
And the second question is, am i able to use autofs to mount the drive depending on which medium i put in it, ie if i put a dvd in and type cd /etc/auto/dvd it will mount as a dvd, and if i type cd /etc/auto/cdrw it will mount it as a cdrw drive
