DVD burner stopped working

Dear all,

I have a Plextor PX-716UF that I have been using for a while with FC3 and FC5. I just noticed recently under FC5 kernel 2.6.17-1.2157 that it doesn't mount (ie. DVD doesn't mount when put in drive, when before it did)

I noticed that there were some issues with DVD burning after the 2.6.7 kernel but FC5 was shipped with 2.6.14 right ?, and it worked intially when I compiled FC5.

There's nothing physically wrong with the player as it is recognised fine under Windows-XP.

Any suggestions ?

Whats your fstab look like? Is it still listed there?

Actually the entry for the external DVD burner is gone. The mount point is usually /media/cdrecorder1 I think...

Could this be the problem ? What's the device name for this again /dev/sdb ?, I forget...

Should be /dev/scd0 if this is the only SCSI like cdrom device.
Are all SCSI subsystem modules loading?

mount /mnt/cdrecorder1 /dev/scd0 works

How do I get the DVD to mount automatically when I put it in the burner instead of having to type the above everytime ?. I'm sure it's an fstab command, I don't remember which one...
