DVB TV Card that works with linux, recommendations?
Hi all
I'm in the market for a DVB tv card/adapter for my dell. I'm looking for recommendations, though I don't have a massive budget.
Can anyone offer suggestions?

While I can't give you any personal recommendations, I would suggest checking out the mythtv.org site. They have a hardware list that is usually fairly current.
I doubt that you will find any vendor supported linux compatible cards, though.

Not bothered about vendor support, just looking for some recommendations. I'll have a look at the site, too, see what they suggest.
Any other commentors?

Your best bet would be this:
http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page
look under supported hardware for DVB-C, DVB-S and DVB-T.
Personally I can recommend the Avermedia AverTV 771 DVB-T, it works well.

Is this a desktop or notebook? Asking for 'card/adapter' is a bit ambiguous. If it is a notebook I think your only option is a USB adapter. There are some listed on the linuxtv site given in the previous post.
You may need to compile a new kernel as a lot of DVB support has been added in the last few months.

Well, I'm using a desktop at the moment, but if I can find a really good USB adapter I'd be happier. Thinking about switching to a laptop in the near future.
