DVB-T usb stick, ZAP/SV-3420D not working

Hi,

I've got this cheap dvb-t reciever wich I just can't get working. And it seems like no one else can either.. So, now I ask You!

The reciever is an SV-3420D with a Maxliner 5003s silicon tuner
and E3C EC168 Chipset.

Im currently running Slackware 12.1 with the 2.6.24.5 kernel.

My lsusb shows:
Code:
root@athor:~# lsusb
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 18b4:1689
And when I connect the reciever,
Code:
root@athor:~# tail -f /var/log/messages
Jun 15 20:09:03 athor kernel: usb 1-1: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 6
Jun 15 20:09:03 athor kernel: usb 1-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
Jun 15 20:09:03 athor kernel: input: HID 18b4:1689 as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb1/1-1/1-1:1.0/input/input11

Jun 15 20:09:03 athor kernel: usb 1-1: reset high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 6

If you want any more info. pls write!

Tanks.

/Alex

In the same situation. My dongle is also powered by the same chipset- EC168.
Trying out instructions in linuxtv.org did not work. Here's my output:

Code:
root@ajit-laptop:/home/ajit# dmesg -c
[ 2975.518539] usb 7-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 7
[ 2975.550926] usb 7-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
[ 2975.552095] input: HID 18b4:1001 as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb7/7-2/7-2:1.0/input/input17
[ 2975.593837] input,hidraw0: USB HID v1.11 Keyboard [HID 18b4:1001] on usb-0000:00:1d.7-2
Thanks.

This answer has been a bit long in the coming, so I don't know if you guys have moved on. But there is an experimental driver now, which I have tried - and it works for me!

The tree is available in a mercurial repo at: http://linuxtv.org/hg/~anttip/ec168/
You also need the firmware, which you can get at: http://palosaari.fi/linux/v4l-dvb/fi...b-usb-ec168.fw

I made a write-up on how I got my myth-box with an ec168 dongle up and running, just in case it could benefit someone else in the same situation.

Cheers!
/Ibn

That repo was not touched 5 months, and will not compile on 2.6.30 :-(

hi,
I'm trying to run the driver on kernel 2.6.30.
You remember which files you've changed? would be a huge help, thanks.
