Dual RTL 8019 (ne2000 compliant) ISA problem

Hello, I have a aquired a box, and two ethernet adapters, both the same model, respectively RTL 8019, which are ne2000 compatible. I'm using RedHat 7.2 (due to the low-end computer), and I just can't get it to recognize the eths. They are both ISA, and I've tried setting them at boot to "ether=0x300,9,eth0 ether=0x320,5,eth1", but this doesn't work. The kernel has been recently recompiled to include support for ne2000. No matter what I try, I just can't get them to work, so if anybody has any sugestions... I'm listening

You need to configure the cards with isapnptools.

I've tried using isapnptools, with isadump and isapnp, according to the docs but to no succes. I've also set the BIOS iq 7-11 to Legacy ISa, but that didn't work either. The strange thing is that I can assign a local ip and ping it, but it won't work on outside hosts...

Try putting the IP of a nameserver in /etc/resolv/conf and ping again.

I've done that, but to no success... I'm off to buy 2 new PCI cards :)
